SAVING GRACE by Shivapriya Soorianarayanan
There once was a time,
when my loss set me ablaze
So very slow -
I felt every flame.
And so I ran,
as fast as I could,
Looking for something -
Damn, anything, that would save.
I wandered hard in my head,
To places unknown,
Desperately running around,
To catch back my breath.
And then one day,
When I had not even the slightest hope,
There she was, so pristine and fine.
She caught me off guard,
In a good way of course.
I felt all the colours come back -
I knew I was renewed.
I felt well that day,
And have felt well ever since.
I have my loss to thank.
I am happy today.
